In Surah Al-Maida (5th Chapter of the Holy Quran) Allah says and repeats three times that: “Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are UNBELIEVERS, WRONG-DOERS, TRANSGRESSORS” Complete Translation of verses 44-47 Surely We revealed the Torah, wherein there is guidance and light. Thereby did Prophets – who had submitted themselves (to Allah) – judge for the Judaized folk; and so did the scholars and jurists. They judged by the Book of Allah for they had been entrusted to keep it, and bear witness to it. So (O Jews!) do not fear men but fear Me, and do not barter away My signs for a trivial gain. Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are indeed the unbelievers. And therein We had ordained for them: ‘A life for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth, and for all wounds, like for like. But whosoever forgoes it by way of charity, it will be for him an expiation. Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are indeed the wrong-doers. And We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, after those Prophets, confirming the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel, wherein is guidance and light, and which confirms the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah, and a guidance and admonition for the God-fearing. Let the followers of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein, and those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are the transgressors. (Translation Molana Syed Abul Aala Maududi)
ہم نے توراۃ نازل کی جس میں ہدایت اور روشنی تھی سارے نبی، جو مسلم تھے، اُسی کے مطابق اِن یہودی بن جانے والوں کے معاملات کا فیصلہ کرتے تھے، اور اِسی طرح ربانی اور احبار بھی (اسی پر فیصلہ کا مدار رکھتے تھے) کیونکہ انہیں کتاب اللہ کی حفاظت کا ذمہ دار بنایا گیا تھا اور وہ اس پر گواہ تھے پس (اے گروہ یہود!) تم لوگوں سے نہ ڈرو بلکہ مجھ سے ڈرو اور میری آیات کو ذرا ذرا سے معاوضے لے کر بیچنا چھوڑ دو جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی کافر ہیں توراۃ میں ہم نے یہودیوں پر یہ حکم لکھ دیا تھا کہ جان کے بدلے جان، آنکھ کے بدلے آنکھ، ناک کے بدلے ناک، کان کے بدلے کان، دانت کے بدلے دانت، اور تمام زخموں کے لیے برابر کا بدلہ پھر جو قصاص کا صدقہ کر دے تو وہ اس کے لیے کفارہ ہے اور جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی ظالم ہیں ھر ہم نے ان پیغمبروں کے بعد مریمؑ کے بیٹے عیسیٰؑ کو بھیجا توراۃ میں سے جو کچھ اس کے سامنے موجود تھا وہ اس کی تصدیق کرنے والا تھا اور ہم نے اس کو انجیل عطا کی جس میں رہنمائی اور روشنی تھی اور وہ بھی توراۃ میں سے جو کچھ اُس وقت موجود تھا اُس کی تصدیق کرنے والی تھی اور خدا ترس لوگوں کے لیے سراسر ہدایت اور نصیحت تھی ہمارا حکم تھا کہ اہل انجیل اس قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ کریں جو اللہ نے اس میں نازل کیا ہے اور جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی فاسق ہیں (سورۃ المائدہ47-44) ترجمہ قرآن (مولانا سید ابو الاعلیٰ مودودی)
